In four weeks we’ll know which artists will be remembered for defining 2010, but until the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards are announced it’s all up for grabs.

Today Last.fm Trends takes a look at the five artists up for Best Rap Album, and look at who Last.fm listeners want on top.

Five albums made the grade for this year’s shortlist; Eminem, Drake, B.o.B, The Roots and Jay-Z are all in the running, all names that dominate the genre at this year’s awards.

Among Last.fm listeners though the real battle comes down to Eminem and Jay-Z.

While B.o.B, The Roots and Drake all have healthy listener figures – well over half a million listeners apiece – they just don’t come close to denting the lead the other two possess.

Jay-Z latest effort, The Blueprint 3, has seen 6,489,227 plays from 254,907 listeners, hefty repeat plays from listeners who have stuck with the record since its release in September 2009.

Meanwhile, Recovery from Eminem comes in with 11,338,129 plays from 461,298 listeners, roughly double Jay-Z’s plays.

But given how focused some fans are those numbers get a lot closer track-to-track. The two go head to head in almost every category they’re nominated for, so anything could happen, but as far as Best Rap Album goes Eminem looks like a winner.

You can find out more about the 53rd Grammy Awards with CBS over on the Grammys hub. Meanwhile check back at Last.fm Trends for more about your favorite artists as we prepare for the show.
