Last.fm Festival Comes To London!
Last month Last.fm revealed that they would be launching the world’s only user-generated music festival, and teased that there would be more to come. Today we announce that Last.fm Festival won’t just be confined to New York’s Terminal 5, it’s coming to London too.
Last.fm and MAMA Live presents Last.fm Festival, London, featuring The Futureheads, Young Knives and Chapel Club. It’s on Friday 21st January 2011 at the HMV Forum, and you can get tickets now. Get to know the bands a little better after the jump.

The Futureheads self-titled debut dropped in 2004, winning accolades from fans and the music press alike. From the impossibly catchy “Decent Days And Nights” to their classic cover of Kate Bush‘s “Hounds of Love” it set their charts on fire.
Subsequent albums News & Tributes and This Is Not The World saw the band diversify their sound and break out of the UK, and latest album The Chaos has cemented their position as one of the most important British bands of the decade.
Single “Heartbeat Song” has repeatedly broken into the top of the band’s charts this year too, knocking off fan favorites “Meantime” and “Robot” in the process.
Young Knives are ready to return in 2011 with a new album, almost three years since the release of 2008′s Superabundance. The band have been busy in the studio putting together a third album of off-kilter pop and harmonic vocals.
Their charts are a diverse slice across their catalog, from mini-albums, b-sides and smash hit singles. Fans will see the trio fold old and new together in a blistering set, marking the group’s epic return to the live circuit.
Meanwhile Chapel Club are a band close to Last.fm’s heart. Literally; they formed in the shadow of a church near Old Street in London, just around the corner from Last.HQ.
The band have already become a much-remixed favorite on the indie club circuit, with storming shows delivering their moody post-punk to fans who have lapped it up. They’re likely to open the show in style.
The Futureheads, Young Knives and Chapel Club take over HMV Forum on Friday, January 21st, 2011 as headliners of the first-ever Last.fm Festival.
