A look at this year’s Grammy nominations wouldn’t be complete without a little bit of country to bring it home. Since the announcement on December 1st we’ve all been wondering who’ll bag the awards, and today it’s all about Best Country Song.

We’ve got the Last.fm Trends team to investigate which track is doing best via scrobbling on Last.fm, to find out the people’s choice…

 Heading Into Grammy Country The difference in popularity of the tracks is remarkable: Gretchen Wilson‘s “I’d Love To Be Your Last” brings up the rear with only 878 scrobbles from 358 listeners . Interestingly, the track has still yet to dent her top 30 on Last.fm – it seems likely this nomination will push it skywards.

 Heading Into Grammy Country At the other end of the scale, “Need You Now” by Lady Antebellum rules the roost.

This pop crossover smash boasts 1,189,477 scrobbles from 165,519 listeners – way above second-place The Band Perry with 130,571 scrobbles from 26,254 listeners.

Having won both CMA and ACM awards however, does it need even more recognition?
