Metallica Man Celebrates Birthday

A very happy birthday to James Hetfield, guitarist and vocalist from Metallica, who celebrates his 47th birthday today. The band have been stalwarts on the heavy metal scene for almost thirty years now, with a catalog of riffs that still thunder over the airwaves.

Last.fm Trends decided to celebrate Hetfield’s trip around the sun with a look at which of his band’s album’s are the most popular among listeners at Last.fm…

Metallica’s 1,692,017 listeners have scrobbled their songs a staggering 139,692,857 times, each scrobble equating to a full play of one of their songs. A lot of the scrobbles come from their huge singles catalog, with tracks like “Enter Sandman” and “One” roaring away at the top of their charts, not to mention epic “Nothing Else Matters“, way out in the lead with 5,147,388 scrobbles. But their album catalog has a lot of fans too…

New album Death Magnetic is ahead with 11,889,533 scrobbles, while 1991′s self-titled effort and 1986′s Master Of Puppets both scrobble in the millions.
